One thing I enjoy is going back to basics. I like the idea of having a box of baking soda and a bottle of vinegar under my sink instead of several different kinds of cleaners. I enjoy using honey to wash my face, dirt to get sap off my foot, ice to get gum off clothes, etc etc etc. Sun tea is one of my favorite things to make in the summer, added bonus being that your house doesn't overheat unnecessarily because you're not using your stove. Here's another brilliant idea that I want to try. Finally, a reason to look forward to 100 degree days.
