What people don't get about Romeo & Juliet

I had a Shakespeare class in high school that, despite my teacher's penchant for SHORT short shorts, was actually one of my favorites. One thing I liked is that it really drove home an opinion about Shakespeare's aim while writing these plays. He was a comedian. I really think, though Romeo and Juliet IS a love story and does have its tender moments, that it is ALSO a critique of young love and the drama that follows. It therefore bugs me when people seem to ignore that aspect because the actions of the characters are stupid often and rash for sure... Anyway, I miss that class.
