The month of September in Oregon and Washington is usually surprisingly warm and drier. We're probably just staggered, cause June, while warmer... is often still rainy at times... and May is full on spring, meaning rain. The month of October, however, is generally the start of Fall. Fall meaning cooler weather, and darkness. I love September and October. It is cooler, but the sun is out and it is BEAUTIFUL. Then, it starts raining again and it SMELLS beautiful and everything finally seems clean.
